Barakaldo’s memory map aims, on the one hand, to inventory the places of memory related to the Civil War and the first Franco regime and, on the other, to make a description of what happened there, of the time in which the events occurred and to offer a old photographic record – if any – and current of each one of the physical spaces.
All places of memory have been classified into five themes; bombed places and air-raid shelters, places of war memory, places of attention to citizens, public places, urban spaces and commemorative elements and finally industries and places of a political and social nature.
